DRIVING RESTRICTIONS - 2001

CROATIA

 

Vehicles concerned  Goods vehicles with total permissible weight of more than 7,5t which are longer than 14 m (alone or with trailer), tractors, horse-drawn vehicles, other working machines and all other vehicles which are slower than 40 km/h.

Area     ON THE  ROADS:

  1. number 1: Border Crossing Macelj (Slovenija) - Zagreb - Karlovac - Gračac - Knin - Brnaze - Križica (near Dugopolje) and section Klis - Solin (new detour of Solin),

  2. on the part of the road number 2 on relation: BC Dubrava Križovljanska - Varaždin,

  3. on the part of the road number 3 on relation:  Karlovac - Kikovica,

  4. on the part of the road number 4 on relation: BC Bregana - Zagreb (Jankomir),

  5. on the part of the road number 5 on relation: Virovitica - V. Zdenci,

  6. on the part of the road number 7 on relation: Osijek - Čepin,

  7. on the part of the road number 8:  BC  Pasjak - Šapjane - Rijeka - Zadar - Split - BC        Klek  (B & H) - BC Zaton Doli (B & H) - Dubrovnik - BC Karasovići (SRJ),

  8. on the part of the road number 9:  BC  Metković (B & H) - Opuzen - D8/,

  9. on the part of the road number 21: BC Kaštel (Slovenija) - Buje - Pula - Labin - Opatija - D8/,

  10. on the part of the road number 28: Vrbovec (D41) - Bjelovar.

  11. on the part of the road number 41: Vrbovec - Sesvete,

  12. on the part of the road number 43: Đurđevac (D2) - Bjelovar,

  13. on the part of the road number 45: Veliki Zdenci (D5) - Garešnica - Kutina,

  14. on the part of the road number 53: BC Donji Miholjac (Hungary) - Našice - Slavonski Brod (B&H),

  15. on the part of the road number 60: Brnaze - Trilj,

  16. on the part of the road number 200: Buje (D21) - BC Plovanija (Slovenia),

  17. on the part of the road number 300: Buje (D21) - Umag,

  18. on the part of the road number 220: Trilj (D60) - BC Kamensko (B & H).

 

Prohibition        

  • From 15 June to 14 September

  • on Fridays from 16h00 to 23h00;

  • on Saturdays  from 05h00 to 14h00;

  • on Sundays from 12h00 to 23h00.

 

On Easter Friday and on the eve of a public holiday - from 16h00 to 23h00, ( If a series of public holidays begins on a Sunday and Monday or on a Monday and Tuesday, the prohibition is effective on the preceding Friday  from 16h00 to 23h00.)

On the last day of public holidays  - from 12h00 to 23h00.

( When a public holiday, or the last day of a series of public holidays falls on a Friday or Saturday, the prohibition is effective on the Sunday - from 12h00 to 23h 00.)

Exceptionally prohibition is not valid for goods vehicles on Friday and on the eve of a public holiday on the parts of roads number: 1 (BC  Macelj - Krapina), number: 2 (BC Dubrava Križovljanska - Varaždin), number: 4 (BC Bregana - Zagreb/Jankomir) and number: 8 (BC Pasjak - Rijeka).

Driving restriction is not valid for:

  • vehicles with advantage of passage and vehicles under escort,

  • Ministry's of the interior and military vehicles,

  • vehicles for road servicing and other servicing vehicles, vehicles for delivering newspapers and post,

  • tank trucks transporting water for drink,

  • vehicles (without trailers) which transport concrete and asphalt and vehicles which transport petroleum derivates.

  • vehicles (without trailers) which transport fresh meat and fresh meat products, fresh milk and milk products, fresh fish and fish products, perishable fruits and vegetables, etc.

  • vehicles (without trailers) which transport live catle and live poultry,

  • vehicles with permission.

           Semi-trailer for transport perishable goods is not trailer in sense of this driving restrictions (if is not longer, together with truck, than 14m).

DRIVING RESTRICTIONS - 2001

CROATIA

 

I.

               Traffic ban is imposed on:freight cars with or without trailer whose maximum allowed weight exceeds 7.5 tons; vehicles which alone or with attached vehicles are longer than 14 m (hereinafter: freight cars); tractors; drawn vehicles; working and other machines and vehicles which cannot move faster than 40 km/h on a level road; and vehicles providing driving lessons, on the following highways, except on constructed motorway sections:

     1. part of Road No. 1, route: Karlovac (Brza cesta - Smičiklas St. crossing) - Slunj - Gračac - Knin - Brnaze - up to Križice (at Dugopolje), and on Klis-Solin section (newly built Solin town bypass);

     2. part of Road No. 3, route: Duga Resa - Kikovica;

     3. part of Road No. 5, route: Virovitica - V.Zdenci;

     4. part of Road No. 8, route: Rijeka - Zadar - Split - Klek border crossing (with B&H) - Zaton Doli border crossing (with B&H) - Dubrovnik - Karasovići border crossing (with FRY), except for its part crossing with highway No. 27 (at Šibenik Bridge) to the exit into Šibenik (branch diverging to Highway No. 58);

     5. Road No. 9, route: Metković - Opuzen - D8;

     6. part of Road No. 21, route: Kaštel border crossing (with Slovenia) - Buje - Pula;

     7. part of Road No. 23, route: Žuta Lokva - Senj;

     8. Road No. 39, Aržano border crossing (with B&H) to its crossing with highway No.8 (Dubci);

     9. Road No. 45, Veliki Zdenci (D5) - Garešnica - Kutina;

     10. part of Road No. 53, route: from its crossing with the Country Road no. 4207 to Slavonski Brod border crossing (with B&H);

     11. part of Road No. 60, route:Brnaze - Trilj - Cista Provo;

     12. part of Road No. 66, route: Pula - Raša - Opatija - D8;

     13. part of Road No.200, route: Buje (D21) - Plovanija border crossing (with Slovenia);

     14. Road No. 220, route: Trilj (D60) - Kamensko border crossing (with B&H);

     15. Road No. 300, route: Buje (D21) - Umag.

II.

             The ban under article I. of this Order shall apoly:

       - from 15 June to 9 September, on Fridays from 16.00 to 23.00 hours, on Saturdays from 05.00 to 14.00 hours and on      Sundays from 12.00 to 23.00 hours.

       - on Good Friday and days preceding the Croatian national holidays from 16.00 to 23.00 hours.

       - on the last day of a national holiday from 12.00 to 23.00 hours.

             If a national holiday or its last day coincides with Friday or Saturday, the ban shall apply on Sundays from 12.00 to 23.00 hours.

             If a holiday coincides with Sunday or Monday, or if Christmas Holidays fall on Sunday or Monday, or Monday and Tuesday, the ban shall apply on Friday in the eve of the holiday from 16.00 to 23.00 hours.

             At all border crossings specified in this Order and at all ban hours, vehicles with domestic registration plates affected by the ban are allowed to enter Croatia and move to the nearest customs office or terminal, provided that a parking lot is available there or that an appropriate parking lot eists in the border crossing area where during the ban hours they are assigned to for traffic exclusion.

III.

               From 29 June to 2 September a traffic ban is imposed on freight cars under aticle I.of this Order on a part of Highway No. 1, between Karlovac and Gračac, except for the Korenica - Prijeboj section, on working days from Monday to Thursday in night hours from 22.00 to 04.00 hours.

               The ban from the foregoing paragraph, except for the days and hours specified in article II. of this Order, shall not apply to the vehicles of legal and natural persons with a seat or residence in area of Highway No. 1, between Karlovac and Gračac, and to the vehicles referred to in article Iv hereof, indent 7,8 and 9, engaged in catering business along this road section.

               The Croatian Roads Ltd. shall mark the ban under para. 1 of article I and para. 1 and 2 of article III hereof with appropriate traffic signs and notify the public thereon through media.

IV.

       Exempted from the restrictions imposed under this Order are the following vehicles:

          - vehicles enjoying passage privileges and escorted vehicles,

          - police and military vehicles,

          - vehicles for maintenance of roads, electrical and similar installations, as well as mail and press distribution vehicles,

          - broadcasting vehicles,

          - potable water transport vehicles,

          - vehicles transporting material or equpment vital in emergencies,

          - freight cars or those with semi-trailers transporting concrete, asphalt or petroleum derivates; except on Highway No. 1, between Karlovac and Gračac, where they must comply with the traffic restrictions imposed under article III ot this Order,

          - freight cars or those with semi-trailers transporting perishables such as fresh meat and fresh meat products, fresh milk and milk products, fresh fish and fish products, perishable fruit and vegetables, except on Highway No. 1, between Karlovac and Gračac, where they must comply with the traffic restrictions imposed under article III of this Order,

          - freight cars or those with semi-trailers transporting livestock or poultry, except on Highway No. 1, between Karlovac and Gračac, where they must comply with the traffic restrictions imposed under article III of this Order,

          - other vehicles possessing a licence.

V.

               The licence referred to in the foregoing article is issued by the police station covering the transport departure area in internal road traffic or at the place of entry into Croatia in internatioanl road traffic only if in terms of timming and circumstances such transport is vitally needed for safety reasons or to prevent major material damage caused by its delay.

               The licence under para. 1 of this article is issued on the form printed in attachment to this Order as its integral part.

VI.

              In case of non-compliance a fine of Kn 6,000 shall be charged to a corporate or another enity and a fine of Kn 1,000 to the responsible person in the company or another entity or a private businessman if they order or allow their vehicles to engage in traffic in contravention of this Order.

              A fine of Kn 5,000 shall be charged to an independent businessman for an offence under para. 1 of this article.

              A teacher giving driving lessons, as well as the person driving the vehicle in contravention of this Order shall be fined Kn 500.
